Sr Corporate Counsel, Customer Care

Are you a technically inclined attorney with a bias for action, seeking to provide a great customer experience? Are you someone who enjoys leveraging and honing new and changing areas of legal expertise, employing critical thinking skills, and working in collaborative teams? If so, we are looking for an attorney with these qualities to provide legal advice to T-Mobile’s award winning, customer service obsessed Care organization. The position will support the Customer Care organization in a variety of client areas that drive T-Mobile’s Un-carrier wireless experience, including customer support systems utilizing the latest technologies, reactive and proactive communications, collections compliance, account security and fraud prevention, and social media support.

The attorney will have opportunities to work on a wide range of customer facing projects aimed at providing a best in class customer experience. These projects will cover numerous legal subject areas, such as consumer protection laws, regulatory compliance, billing and collections regulations, crisis communications, social media, privacy, and vendor transactions. This role will require someone prepared to work side-by-side with business clients to gain an expert understanding of the wireless telecommunications products and services they provide and support across the business.

What you’ll do in your role.

  • Developing a deep understanding of the wireless products and services that the Care organization provides and supports
  • Working with the client to provide the best possible customer experience while ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws and other applicable regulations
  • Superior client development skills focused on partnering with the client to meet their goals
  • The ability to use creativity and flexible thinking to identify and problem-solve complex legal and business issues
  • Provide informed legal guidance in a fast paced environment

The experience you’ll bring.

  • A U.S. law degree and admission to at least one state bar required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in relevant areas or working with clients with similar legal requirements, such as consumer protection, telecommunications, and/or customer service
  • Customer-oriented interpersonal skills to work with demanding internal clients, and the conviction to provide creative solutions and guidance in a professional manner.
  • Strong motivation to obtain and build a deep and broad knowledge of T-Mobile’s products and services
  • Law firm and in-house experience preferred
  • Experience with collections, sales, customer service, and consumer issues preferred
  • Outstanding legal judgment, drafting and communication skills

  • JD degree
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Legally authorized to work in the US

Managers (at least mine) actually listened to and advocated for their employees. Great pay. Nice perks. Good culture — people didn’t seem miserable.


As with any big company, can take a while for things to get done. Lots of layers, etc. But definitely moves faster than other big companies I’ve worked for.

Advice to Management

Don’t advance those mid- to senior mgrs who just go through the motions. Do more to keep smart, talented people on board.
