DESCRIPTION:

Contributes to T-Mobile success by delivering and implementing medium to large sized projects, processes, and/or programs that improve profitability, reduce costs, streamline operations, or enhance service to the business and customers. Collaborates effectively with cross-functional business and technology development teams to solve problems and implement new solutions. This position serves as a lead representative and SME for nationally run projects and programs related to the Technology Property Management team.

What you'll do in your role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assembles key players on the project team and nurtures internal working relationships across the enterprise which fosters the development of cross functional teamwork. Delegates project responsibilities and task interfaces, directs, motivates and manages the project work and resources involved within the project. Ensures timely activity, integration and productivity of technical support and administers efficient use of resources to meet requirements with clear identification of task completion. 20%

Facilitate creation of work breakdown structures, develop and update project schedules/plans with actual and forecasted deliverables and manage deviations from plan. Analyze validity of schedules submitted by outside parties contributing to the project. Distribute schedules in various formats and detail to suit different users or audiences. Monitor actual project progress, compare to baseline and report progress against schedule. Document, obtain approval, and track all changes in project parameters. Produce detailed reports and notifications as appropriate and communicate project status to respective stakeholders and project sponsor. Approve or recommend all required commitments and liaise with supplier and contractor representatives. 20%

Identify Risks in projects and use proven PM techniques to assess and mitigate. Facilitate project risk reviews and appropriate mitigation. Examine risks associated with the work, proposed contracts and major changes, and make recommendations for handling or equitable sharing. Forecast the impacts on schedule of proposed changes and report impact to project team, sponsor and management. 15%

Attend and/or host management and project team meetings as required keeping the project team informed and progressing including project reviews with stakeholders as necessary to perform ongoing assessments on the progress of projects. 20%

Facilitate the creation of the project charter and examine project related technical documentation for completeness and latest versions and insure availability and distribution to all project team members. Insure required document review and approvals according to company standards and processes. Upon project completion or premature cessation, close all project documentation and archive actual appropriate records and achievements for estimating future similar projects. Coordinate practical details of the transfer of the care, custody and control of the final product including assembly and transfer of operational and maintenance documentation. 5%

Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed. 20%

The experience you'll bring.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years - Industry experience as a program or product manager within a technology environment. Experience working on projects in a wireless industry.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and determine appropriate sense of urgency under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, have experience as a lead or in a leadership role and have proven success in building cross functional relationships.
  • Experience utilizing real estate, lease administration or site management database systems
  • Must be solution-driven with the ability to solve problems creatively and resourcefully and to implement an appropriate response plan.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience defining reporting requirements and metrics and ability to utilize technology and information systems to implement solutions.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office programs, specifically Excel and aptitude for learning new software quickly.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management or combination of equivalent experience and education

General/Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to work on computer for long periods of time. Ability to work in close proximity to others in a busy office environment.

Pros

Laid back, easy going, very relaxed and opportunities for advancement and career enhancement if the individual applies him/herself. They INSIST on a healthy work-life balance. And the CEO is entertaining and has done amazing things for the company.

Cons

They really like to promote from within, which is great, if you're "in", but it can be incredibly difficult to get in. Pay can be a little on the low end of the scale, but benefits are great.

Advice to Management

Make sure that everyone on the teams are pulling their share of the weight; policies come out because of the intermittent 'bad apple'

Just like other large corporate environments, its not what you know its who you know in order to advance your career further. Pay is fair could be better.
