As a Sr. Manager, Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Learning Programs, you will consult with executives from across the business and HR Crews to shape enterprise-wide learning to promote diversity and inclusion at T-Mobile. You will define a vision for the products in your portfolio and then lead a high performing team of cross-functional career development professionals to deliver innovative, high quality and highly effective Career Development Solutions. Through deep relationships and data analytics, you will gain insights about customers, anticipate their needs and determine which problems are the right problems to solve. Then you will prioritize customer needs, related work effort and spending so that you can lead the development and launch of products and programs.

You'll work with your direct reports in an agile environment, continuously prioritizing their work and evaluating your team's product in terms of quality and effectiveness. Your role extends from inception to ongoing service delivery, where you will manage all aspects of operations and continually evaluate emerging development needs and business strategies to identify opportunities to strengthen the assigned program portfolio. You will bring new thinking to traditional problems and drive innovative, experiment-based improvements. You will also embed principles of inclusion, diversity, and equity into all program practices and mentor others to do the same. Reporting to the Sr Director of Leadership & Career Development, you will exercise broadly delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing the programs and products in your portfolio. Your decisions have a major day to day impact on your area of responsibility. You will manage a large budget and a team.

What you'll do in your role.

1. Define a vision for the Diversity & Inclusion learning product(s) that is aligned to business D&I goals.
2. Gain insight about customers, anticipate their needs and determine which problems are the right problems to solve.
3. Prioritize customer needs, related work effort and spending.
4. Lead development and launch of products and programs.
5. Evaluate product quality and effectiveness.
6. Lead ongoing service delivery.
7. Build and manage a high performing team.
8. Lead cross functional initiatives with broad impact across the organization.
9. Facilitate sessions for leaders, including: test sessions, kick offs, development sessions and capstone events as part of our Top Talent Program leadership development offerings and/or Inclusion programs.

Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

The hiring manager will consider internal candidates outside Bellevue.

The experience you'll bring.

Bachelors Degree Human Resources Development, Instructional Design, I/O Psychology, Education or a related field.
7+ years of experience in D&I, leadership development, consulting, learning and / or organizational development or Talent Management with a focus on leading the development of learning programs.
5 years experience working with Executive level business leaders.
2+ years of people management experience.
5+years of experience creating and delivering large-scale leadership development initiatives, including: design, development, delivery and ongoing operation.
2+ years of experience in building and maintaining strong partnerships at various levels within the organization.
Experience managing budgets and vendors in a complex environment.
Experience presenting to Executives or delivering leadership development sessions to an executive audience
Strong executive presence with senior leaders and abilities to influence at all levels within an organization.
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong partnerships at various levels within the organization.
Outstanding Critical thinking skills, including strong data analysis skills. Ability to effectively incorporate data and research in strategic design processes.
Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and chaos, shifting priorities as unanticipated needs arise. Ability to work, and lead a team, in an agile and iterative way.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
Ability to review curricula to ensure that it is of high quality and meet customer’s long-term business needs. Knowledge of how adults learn and how to build learning content in all required formats (print, video,e-learning, workshop).
Knowledge of change management approaches and best practices.
Collaboration mindset, with the ability to quickly form effective relationships with senior-level stakeholders.

Managers (at least mine) actually listened to and advocated for their employees. Great pay. Nice perks. Good culture -- people didn't seem miserable.


As with any big company, can take a while for things to get done. Lots of layers, etc. But definitely moves faster than other big companies I've worked for.

Advice to Management

Don't advance those mid- to senior mgrs who just go through the motions. Do more to keep smart, talented people on board.
