What you'll do in your role.

As our Digital Marketing operations manager, B2B you will:
  • Work with the B2B marketing operations team to align our digital and operational platforms
  • Own and facilitate relationships with external digital platform vendors with core responsibility for driving maximum value out of platforms and relationships.
  • Influence the architecture strategy and best practices for B2B Marketing Operations and T-Mobile Digital Operations and partner with our technology leaders and internal stakeholders to ensure that platform decisions are socialized, understood and approved by digital and business leadership.
  • Influence and contribute to technology strategic planning across B2B as the technology representative from Digital, in partnership with marketing Operations leaders, Digital Leaders, digital operations internal and external partners.
  • Maintain accountability for ensuring that solution designs and deployments enable Digital strategies and operational needs across all Digital touchpoints.
  • Lead rapid pilot assessments of appropriate technology solutions with the Digital team, and where appropriate work with internal partners to facilitate appropriate approvals for each pilot. Own accountability for pilot outcomes and steps following evaluation.
  • Own accountability for marketing data integration across all digital systems, enabling real-time targeting and profiling across all online channels. This includes:
    • Managing relationships with key digital platform partners
    • Managing tag implementations for digital in co-ordination with marketing operations as needed
    • Assessing and driving data integration for all relevant systems to ensure that data can be integrated and harvested in real-time as needed, within the existing infrastructure
    • Enable the data science and reporting team with data extracts, data access, and integrations where needed
  • Lead by example driving expertise across the full stack Digital technology portfolio.
  • Represent B2B group both internally and externally as a B2B Digital Platform thought leader.

The experience you'll bring.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments and use this in designing the solution;
  • Can work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Self-Starter, ability to own, manage and drive initiatives.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in B2B digital architecture/technology across multiple products, systems and/or platforms coupled with strong business acumen.

  • Ability to influence non-technical aspects of technology change (e.g. business and operational architectures).
  • Strong at teaching, coaching, mentoring and other functions.
  • Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.

Managers (at least mine) actually listened to and advocated for their employees. Great pay. Nice perks. Good culture -- people didn't seem miserable.

Cons

As with any big company, can take a while for things to get done. Lots of layers, etc. But definitely moves faster than other big companies I've worked for.

Advice to Management

Don't advance those mid- to senior mgrs who just go through the motions. Do more to keep smart, talented people on board.
